Liz King currently serves as Education Equity Senior Program Director for The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a position she has held since 2015. The Leadership Conference is a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 240 national organizations to promote and protect the civil and human rights of all persons in the United States. In this role, King leads the organization’s work to ensure that all students are fully included in welcoming schools from early childhood through postsecondary education that prepare them for college, careers, life, and the full exercise of their social, political, and economic rights.
Prior to joining The Leadership Conference, King served as a Senior Policy Associate for Education at the Children’s Defense Fund and Legislative Director for Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA). King began her education career as a middle school teacher in South Philadelphia and holds a BA in government and religion from Wesleyan University and an MS in elementary education from St. Joseph’s University.
