Celebrating Two Decades of Impact

NATIONAL CONVENING 2025

What to Expect

The YEO Network’s 20th Anniversary National Convening, themed “Our Fight, Our Future”, will be like none before it, bringing together a diverse and dynamic group of young elected officials, faith leaders, activists, innovators, policy experts, and partners from across the nation to share best practices while they participate in three days of intense issue and skills-based trainings. This gathering is not just a conference; it's a pivotal moment in our shared journey towards a brighter future.

Since our last National Convening, a presidential election reshaped our political landscape, and the foundations of our democracy will once again be put to the test. Our communities face the threats of authoritarian leadership that seek to censor our children’s education and create division through unchecked streams of disinformation. The many are being exploited, disadvantaged and silenced by the powerful few at the ballot box, in the workplace, and at the cash register. Decades of progress that advanced equality and freedom are being rolled back by far-right courts and elected lawmakers. In the wake of these unprecedented challenges, bold and visionary leadership is needed more than ever.

At this year’s convening, we recognize the urgency and necessity of our resistance. We believe that it's the young leaders of today who will navigate these challenges and shape the course of tomorrow. This conference is designed to empower you with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration needed to lead in this new era. â€‹

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our program features a diverse range of thought-provoking sessions and interactive workshops. You'll engage with experts and fellow leaders to explore innovative solutions to the pressing issues of our time, from addressing inequalities to ensuring a fair and just democracy. You'll gain insights into harnessing the power of technology, including AI, to drive positive change in your communities.

But this convening isn't just about ideas; it's about action. You'll leave this conference with concrete strategies and a renewed sense of purpose to drive progress within your role of leadership. Together, we'll chart a course towards a brighter future, one that reflects the values of justice, equity, and inclusivity.

Panels and Fireside Chats

Our panels and fireside chats are a unique opportunity for members to discuss pressing issues of the day with experts in policy, organizers, activists, and thought leaders reshaping the progressive space.

Host City Service Project

Service comes first. Each year, we take the time to tackle critical issues through service to local communities in our host city.

Mini Policy Academies

Seeing is believing and good ideas are contagious. That's why we'll spend part of our weekend out across the DC community, exploring innovative solutions to tough issues from economic opportunity to climate resiliency.

Affinity Breakfasts and Caucus Meetings

Throughout the weekend, members will have the space to meet in groups by level of office, region, and affinity caucuses to share and discuss issues important to their communities.

Receptions and Special Events

Convening is also fun! You’ll have full access to a weekend of receptions and other exclusive experiences celebrating 20 years of impact and bringing you closer to other young elected leaders pursuing change.
