Jane

OUr Fight, Our Future Speaker

Jane Kim serves as the California Director for the Working Families Party and on the board of Close the Gap California – a statewide initiative to achieve gender balance in the California Legislature. She is recruiting and training the next generation of leaders who will fight for working families, and organizing voters to secure governing power for the many, not just the few.

Kim served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 2011-2019. Her progressive track record is evident in groundbreaking initiatives including making community college tuition-free for all residents, enacting the nation’s strongest minimum wage law, securing full-time nurses for homeless shelters, and establishing a medical respite shelter for aging and sick homeless residents. Kim then served as the California political director for Bernie Sanders 2020 and senior advisor for the Sanders Institute. She has also been a community organizer at Chinatown Community Development Center and an attorney at Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. She received her JD from the UC Berkeley School of Law.
