Georgia State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan
Alisha Morgan's Testimony
I wanted to be a part of the YEO Network because I know how critical it is for progressive Young Elected Officials to have a safe space to share ideas and sometimes even challenges. I remember my most challenging moment in the legislature, when it was time to make my next step and I had no one to call. Who else would understand what it was like to be the youngest member of the legislature and have the courage to stand when no one else will? I wanted to make sure this network was successful because of all of the resources available to elected officials like me. Nothing compares to the resources made available- networking opportunities, media and communications assistance, and other young officials to support each other.
The YEO Network is playing a vital role in ensuring this country is headed in the right direction, led by young, prepared and effective leaders who want to see an America that is progressive, fair and just.
Young progressive elected officials need a strong support system that meets the unique needs of those who will be at the forefront of leading this nation for decades to come. The YEO Network provides that support.
The network is preparing the nation's best and brightest young elected officials who are playing a vital role in shaping public policy and values for our nation and its future.
