Front Line Leaders Academy

The  Front Line Leaders Academy (FLLA) is the premier campaign leadership development program offered by the Young Elected Officials Network to twenty talented young people across the country. FLLA provides prospective candidates and campaign leaders the ability to learn from successful political campaign professionals. Fellows selected to this elite academy are trained on the basic skills needed to be an effective candidate, campaign manager, finance director, communication director or field organizer.

For eight months FLLA works with young, unknown leaders and provides trainings on a wide range of leadership development and political skills. Fellows receive training on the five core competencies of political campaigns.

The FLLA Campaign and Leadership Development Program offers intense trainings for young leaders who demonstrate the potential and desire to some day run for office or take on a leadership role within a campaign. Young leaders selected for the program participate in a series of workshops led by Young Elected Officials and campaign experts. Young Elected Officials and fellows work one-on-one, as they develop the necessary skills to transition into the next generation of progressive candidates and campaign leaders.

Motivated by their strong will for public service, students work with YEOs and campaign experts during four three-day convenings, monthly telebriefs and in one-on-one sessions aimed at monitoring the progress of each Fellow. By graduation, fellows will have developed a wide range of campaign and candidacy skills, and will have compiled a complete campaign book that will enable them to be successful in campaign leadership.
