Frequently Asked Questions
If you have questions about the YEO Network, membership, or participation, several answers are below. If you still have additional questions, please contact us and we would be happy to help you.
How much does it cost to join the YEO Network?
There is no cost to join the Network. We are a 501 C-3 supported by People For the American Way Foundation, our parent organization, and through donations made by progressive allies.
What is the age range for membership?
The YEO Network is for elected officials between the ages of 18 – 35.
Am I still a member once I turn 35?
The age range of 18 – 35 is for point of entry into the YEO Network. Therefore, as long as you join before you turn 35, you will not age out of the Network unless you choose to.
What do I have to do to join?
Click on “Join the YEO Network!” link in the footer below. This will direct you to the membership form, which you can fill out and submit online. Or you can click here for a direct link.
Do I have to be a member of a particular political party to join?
The YEO Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan organization and elected officials from all parties are welcome to join. However, the goal of the YEO Network is to unite and support progressive elected leaders who have a passion for building communities that reflect values of freedom, fairness, and opportunity.
What am I required to do after I join?
All we ask is that you participate. There are many opportunities throughout the year for networking with other young electeds, professional and personal development, regional caucuses, policy sharing, issues briefings, and connecting with other progressive policy development organizations and think-tanks.
None of this is required for membership in the YEO Network. However, the more you participate in YEO Network sponsored events and contribute to the information we provide to Network members, you will have a better opportunity to receive scholarships and grants to attend our national conferences, partner’s conferences, and nation-wide speaking opportunities.
Can I invite other elected officials to join?
Absolutely! This is a network for young elected officials by young elected officials, and we are always looking for new members. There are several ways to get another YEO involved
- Contact us at rhurst@pfaw.org with the name and contact information of the elected official(s) you are inviting to join and we will outreach to them,
